What role does the artist have in society?
The artist is a very integral part of society! We're like the motor oils that keep the vehicle of everyday life rolling. We create the music you listen to while you're driving, partying, watching tv, having sex, etc.  We help create these memories that people will cherish for lifetimes!

Is America so superficial that the best lyrical artists are surpassed and outsold by generic mainstream artists?
I dont think so. In reality lyricist are winning. Artists' like Ye (Kanye West), Em (Eminem), Hov (Jay-Z), K Dot (Kendrick Lamar), Rozay (Rick Ross), and Schoolboy Q are selling at the top of the genre. That other sh!t is microwavable, here today gone today! The catchy hooks and beats are definitely needed to grab the audience attention, but the lyrics are going to keep people a fan of your music! Long live the lyricist
